100 days until London 2012

The highly anticipated Olympics is drawing near but if you don't yet have everything sorted DON'T WORRY, even the committee still have a few things to figure out.

Names of those carrying the Olympic Torch have recently been released as has the route the torch will take, but test events are still taking place meaning some people may be needing to book last minute hotels.

Apps to help:

If you're thinking about coming to London 2012 but want a little advice with how to get around the bustling capital, it would definitely be helpful to download a couple of apps. For those of you who have the iPhone or a Blackberry I would recommend "Tube Map". (It's worth noting at this point that I'm not paid to advertise any apps but am simply giving my opinion).

Tube Map allows you to locate your nearest tube station, map a route and most importantly for the ever challenging works on the tube lines, LIVE UPDATES.

If you're slightly further out of London, or coming from a different part of Britain, "UK Train Times" is a similar app for the main train lines (or overground as it may be referred to). Again it finds your closest station, gives you live updates (including which platform your train will be on if you're in the ultimate rush) and allows you to save a station as your "home station" so that no matter where you are, it will work out your first train home.

"Addison Lee" is an app for taxis in London. You can make a booking and it will alert you when your taxi has arrived, what it looks like, how much it will cost and even gives you the registration plate. This is particularly useful for combating those taxi snatching people at the end of a long day.
